Mrs. Tanya Johnson, preschool director & teacher, is also the Director of Church Ministries for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. This is year 24 in Lutheran schools and churches, teaching and working with children from infancy through high school ages. She loves the energy and sense of wonder that young children have about the world around them. She has a B.A. in education and M.A. in theology (Lutheran studies). She has lived in Appleton since 2005. Tanya and her husband Todd have two daughters, Katie (a student at UW-Eau Claire) and Lizzie (a student at Celebration Lutheran school in Appleton), and a very spoiled dog, Abbie.
Mrs. Jenny Hintz, Before care teacher, is an experienced early childhood teacher and active volunteer at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and for the Appleton public schools. She and her husband Mike have three children: Tommy (college student), Abbey (high school in Appleton), and Sammy (high school in Appleton). "Miss Jenny" leads before school care from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Monday - Thursday.
"Grandma Shirley" is a Good Shepherd Lutheran Church member who volunteers on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She helps children when they need to use the restroom and she gives a lot of help and encouragement during our morning classes. The students love having an extra "grandma" at preschool!
