Philosophy:

In partnership with parents, the purpose of Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool is to challenge and enable students to develop and grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. This education is provided in a positive, caring Christ-centered environment.

In our Christian environment, your child will work on and develop the following skills at their own ability and rate:

SELF CONCEPT

• Handling bathroom needs independently
• Zipping/buttoning coat and handling their backpack
• Focusing on God's love for all of us

 CHILD IN RELATION TO OTHERS

• Lengthening attention span in a variety of settings
• Following 2 to 3 step directions
• Using language in work and play situations with adults and children
• Participating in group activities and raising hand to speak during group times
• Showing respect and using manners

CHILD IN RELATION TO PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

• Working on small muscle control when using a pencil, scissors and other equipment
• Showing coordination and muscle control when running and climbing

CHILD IN RELATION TO WORLD OF IDEAS

• Recognizing name and learning to write it
• Recognizing and identifying basic colors and shapes
• Recognizing and naming numerals 0-10
• Sorting and classifying objects as well as executing and extending patterns
