What to Expect

WHAT TO EXPECT

We understand that visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating, and sometimes a confusing experience.  We hope that we answer some of your questions below. And, please, don’t hesitate to contact us at any time.  We are here for you.

Upon arrival:

You will be greeted by one of our greeters in the hallway before you enter the sanctuary. They are there to welcome you, as well as answer any questions you may have. Our church is wheelchair/handicap accessible.

Upon entering the sanctuary:

One of our members will hand you a bulletin which will have the Order of Service in it. There will be a bulletin-news sheet available to inform you of events happening at the church in the days ahead. Please feel free to sit anywhere you like.  If you need an additional hearing device or large print bulletin, don’t be afraid to get one from the usher or Elder.

Children are encouraged to worship with us. Quiet bags are available for the younger ones. (They are located to the right as you enter the sanctuary.) Before the scripture lessons are read, there is a Children’s Message in most services. If you have young children, please encourage them to join us up front for the message. Parents may also accompany them.

If you have young children that may need our Nursery Care, a paid Nursery Attendant is on duty from 7:45 a.m. till 11:45 a.m. for the Sundays between Labor Day and Memorial Day. The Nursery is located just to the left of the sanctuary.

Communion:

Communion is offered during all of our worship services (Thursday 6:30 p.m., Sunday 8:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.) (8:00 & 9:30 from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend). We believe in the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ in, with and under the bread and wine. If you are a visitor, please talk to an usher, Elder or pastor.  Children are encouraged to come up for a blessing.

Worship Style:

As a liturgical church we enjoy the liturgy taken from Holy Scripture to guide us through worship. On the 1st & 5th Sundays of the month we also have a T.A.P.S. (contemporary) worship team to lead us in singing.

Fellowship:

You are invited to join us between services for coffee and fellowship in our hallway or community room. Sometimes some great sweets are available for us too.

Christian Education:

Sunday School is offered for children ages 2 and up September through May from 9:15 a.m. til 10:15 a.m.  Education and Bible classes are also available for all ages (youth and adult) at various locations throughout the church building during this time. Anyone can join in on one of these classes at any time.

What if I have more questions:
